Faced with the harmful environmental practices of mainstream salons, Hemp House Hair Salon founder, Samantha Harron, decided it was time to open her dream salon - one that put the environment first in every way. From carbon-sequestering hempcrete walls to a rainwater catchment system and solar panels on the roof, this Salt Spring salon has certainly lived up to that vision. 

Green Highlights: 

• Built custom windows that negated the need for plastic vinyl sealing

• Rainwater catchment system uses the salon's excess water as irrigation

• Salon's building is made of all-natural, non-toxic Hempcrete and reclaimed materials
